Netflix tax: A levy of 5.5 cents per gigabyte of data traffic is planned in France, to be collected from Google, Meta, Amazon and Netflix. This tax will likely be passed on to French citizens using these services. Internet service providers will anonymously measure the volume of incoming data and forward this information to the tax authorities. The maximum amount of tax that companies will have to pay is limited to 15% of their turnover in France or 2% of their global turnover. Experts estimate that this tax will generate 10-11 billion euros for the French budget every year. The deputies of the parliament have already approved the tax amendment.
