Israeli exit polls: Netanyahu loses majority, no one has a path to power Exit polls from Israel's main broadcasters show that the Knesset is hanging, with none of the camps reaching the 61 seats needed for a majority. Channel 12 gives Gadi Eisenkot's opposition bloc 52 mandates, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's bloc 50 and the Arab parties 18 mandates. Cannes and Channel 13 both project 53 for Eisenkot, 50 for Netanyahu and 17 for the Arab parties. Only the pro-Netanyahu Channel 14 has its block at age 60. The Netanyahu camp is expected to collapse from 68 seats in the outgoing Knesset to 50. However, Likud remains the largest party with 24 to 25 seats, ahead of Eisenkot straight with 21 to 23. The surge in Arab representation is now the decisive factor. Both Netanyahu and Eisenkot ruled out governing with Arab-led parties, leaving the Eisenkot bloc short without them. If none of the parties can form a coalition, Israel faces another election, with Netanyahu remaining as interim prime minister. The voter turnout reached a record high, and earlier that day the election committee rejected Likud's request to keep the polls open longer. Official results may take days.
