⠀ One jury withheld a verdict of murder. Now the judge rejected another challenge. ⠀.
The legal battle following Lindsay Clancy's trial took another turn.
⠀.
Clancy was charged with killing her three children in Massachusetts in 2023.
⠀.
Her defense argued that she was suffering from a serious mental illness at the time and was not criminally responsible for the deaths.
⠀.
The trial ended in September 2026 after the jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict.
⠀.
According to subsequent reports, the panel split 11–1, with the majority in favor of finding her not criminally responsible.
⠀.
Her lawyers later asked the court to investigate issues concerning the lone juror, arguing that his behavior and disclosure warranted further scrutiny.
⠀.
But on October 21, Judge William Sullivan denied their request for an evidentiary hearing.
⠀ The challenged sentence remains in place, and the underlying charges have not been resolved.
⠀.
Clancy is due back in court on November 2.
⠀.
The next question is whether the case will go to another trial.
