current case.
⠀ Her death was determined indefinitely. Now her ex-boyfriend is accused. ⠀.
For more than two years, Alison Lussier's family has pushed for answers about her death.
⠀.
The 27-year-old was found dead inside her apartment in Minneapolis in February 2024.
⠀.
The medical examiner detected bleeding around her brain but classified the manner of death as unknown.
⠀.
The investigation itself was later scrutinized, with serious questions about how the Minneapolis police handled the initial evidence.
⠀.
Now there is a big development.
⠀.
On October 22, prosecutors charged Ellison's ex-boyfriend, Charles Foss, with second-degree murder and stalking.
⠀.
According to the Hennepin County District Attorney's Office, investigators had to do significant additional work after the original case was deemed insufficient to support the charges.
⠀.
Foss is already incarcerated for an unrelated offense. The new charge of murder remains a charge, and he is presumed innocent.
⠀.
The case raises two separate questions: What happened to Ellison, and why did it take more than two years for prosecutors to file charges?
