In February, Caleb Flynn called 911 from his home in Ohio and reported that an intruder had shot his wife, Ashley.
⠀.
But researchers have begun to question that account.
⠀.
Flynn, a former pastor and "American Idol" contestant, was later charged with Ashley's murder.
⠀.
His interviews with the police became a central part of the case. Detectives examined the description of the alleged burglary, his missing weapon, messages involving another woman and digital evidence.
⠀.
On September 29, a jury convicted Flynn. On October 5 he was sentenced to life imprisonment without parole.
⠀.
Now, a newly released analysis of those taped interviews gives viewers a closer look at how detectives tested his story against the evidence.
⠀.
The footage is particularly interesting because the questions change as researchers begin to identify inconsistencies.
⠀.
It's not just about how Flynn acts on camera. It has to do with what he says, what the police can verify and what the jury ended up getting.
