⠀ The Russell brand trial is now in the hands of the judges ⠀
After more than three weeks of evidence, jurors in London began deliberating in the criminal trial of comedian Russell Brand.
⠀.
Brand, 51, is facing seven charges involving six women: three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault and one count of attempted indecent act.
⠀.
The charges relate to events between 1999 and 2009.
⠀.
He pleaded not guilty to all charges.
⠀.
The plaintiffs claim that the complainants, who did not know each other, described a pattern of controlling and non-consensual behavior.
⠀.
Brand admits he was promiscuous during that period of his life, but insists the sexual encounters were consensual.
⠀.
His defense challenged the reliability of the allegations reported many years later, arguing that the media coverage affected the memories of the complainants.
⠀ On November 3, the judge ordered jurors to consider the charges separately and reach unanimous verdicts.
⠀.
No judgment was given when the hearings began.
