⠀ Four people die. three shots. Only 75 minutes. ⠀.
Halloween festivities in Dallas turned into a major homicide investigation after three separate shootings in the Deep Ellum entertainment district.
⠀.
Four people were killed and about 15 others were injured.
⠀.
The first shots were reported around 12:20 a.m. on November 1. Two more shootings occurred within blocks of the first scene, the last at around 1:35 am.
⠀.
Police were already stationed nearby because of the Halloween crowds. Some of them ran towards the shooting and immediately began to help the victims.
⠀.
Investigators have not determined that there is a connection between the three shootings.
⠀.
By Nov. 3, authorities and families had identified some of the dead, while federal officials announced additional police resources for the county.
⠀.
The scale of the violence raised questions about how three separate attacks could unfold so close together despite an increased police presence.
⠀.
Dallas detectives are investigating the circumstances of each shooting and seeking information from witnesses.
