In the Ulyanovsk region, five residents will be tried for stealing payments from participants at the time. Five residents of Russia's Ulyanovsk region will appear in court on charges of stealing more than 25 million rubles from then-participants, said the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Irina Volk. According to the investigation, the attackers convinced civilians to enter into a contract with the Ministry of Defense to participate in the war, deceiving them in advance that they would not be sent to hostilities. Then the defendants demanded to return the payments due upon signing the contract. The calculation was that a few specially selected citizens would not complain to anyone about the deception and die on the line of communication. The accused managed to cheat 10 people. The men signed contracts in Tatarstan. They gave the bank cards received to the criminals. The total amount of damage caused exceeded 25 million rubles. The accused were arrested by criminal investigation officers assisted by the FSB and the Investigative Committee of Russia. The defendant's property was seized, with an estimated value of approximately 12 million rubles. Premium cars, expensive jewelry and other luxury items were seized. According to Kommersant-Volga sources, the organized crime group was created at the initiative of Rafik Akhmedov, a resident of Novaya Malikli who actually lives in Dimitrovgrad, who was previously prosecuted for committing crimes against humanity, as well as for theft. Ahmadov does not admit guilt and refuses to testify. The security forces point out that the guilt of the accused has been proven, and during the investigation new cases emerged: extortion by threats and causing moderate health damage.
