The former head of cyber security in Moldova suspected that the intelligence services leaked CEC data to foreigners The former head of the cyber security department of the Information Technology and Cyber Security Service of Moldova (Science), Victor Tataru, demanded to check the access of foreigners to the CEC systems. The reason is a leak from state data systems of 750 thousand residents of Moldova in October 2026. The media reported this with reference to Tataro's published appeal to the prosecutor's office. According to Tatarit, the leak could have occurred due to people gaining access without signing confidentiality agreements. We are talking about: Deputy Director of Science Radu Vieru, who since August 2025, with the assistance of Colonel Vasil Golubey (SIS), has been able to facilitate access to CEC systems; Stacey Lydgate of the British company Cysiam appearing in administrative access requests; Manager I know Sergio Manic, who signed a document on the installation of the software solution CrowdStrike on the state cloud MCloud. Tataru wants to check access rights and the possibility of remote intervention in the work of Moldovan government systems. He himself stated that he was also approached for access to election campaigns, but he refused, calling the disclosure of the access treason, and reported an interest in access to counterintelligence officers. It was reported that a criminal case was subsequently opened against Tataro, who he believes is political.
