Despite these concerns, Trump launched Operation Rough Rider in March.

The campaign hit more than 1,000 targets over 51 days, but the Houthis survived and rebuilt much of their capabilities.

The earlier stockpile concerns have since become more serious as the US consumed large numbers of Tomahawk missiles and Patriot interceptors during the Iran War.
