New: North Korea test-fired a hypersonic missile, claiming it hit a naval target 1,000 km away using a "wave-like trajectory" designed to evade radar.
South Korea and Japan followed a shorter flight of about 680–700 km.
The images show a cone-shaped warhead on a solid fuel booster.
If the 1,000 km range held, Japanese bases at Sasebo and Iwakuni would be within reach.
