Andy Burnham's government is looking for a British alternative to US technology company Palantir for major NHS and Ministry of Defense contracts as part of its push to "buy British".
Ministers are considering using a break clause in the £330m contract for the NHS next March, possibly giving the company a temporary extension while a replacement is developed in the UK.
Officials are also looking at alternatives to Palantir's £240.6m Ministry of Defense contract, although some warn that replacing its technology could be risky.
