Turkey has issued a new NAVTEX for the Eastern Mediterranean, where the Oruç Reis and three support ships will conduct scientific and underwater surveys between October 1 and 25.

The work is related to plans for an undersea natural gas pipeline between Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), following a July 10 energy deal.

TRNC Prime Minister Ünal Üstel said the gas project would follow plans to connect underwater electricity from Turkey.
