Russia may have just used a new type of drone warhead designed to literally cut down the power infrastructure.
This is according to the Ukrainian defense technology consultant, Serhii "Mbazek:" Beskrestnov.
He said Russia first used a jet-powered drone carrying a new payload called KRSN on September 30.
It has a main charge of 40 kilograms and four additional strike modules.
But this is not a normal warhead.
It is described as a cumulative cutting charge - essentially using shaped explosive energy to cut through steel.
Its reported targets are very specific: high voltage transmission towers and steel bridge structures.
Baskarstanov believes that Russia could use these drones to attack the most important high voltage power lines in Ukraine.
