People often think that because the Jews were victims after World War II and after all the pogroms, the State of Israel is therefore a peaceful country. But that is not the case.

It is part of the DNA of the State of Israel to never allow the destruction of Jewish life through violence. It has always been a defensive, combative, and in that sense, outwardly aggressive country.

But then there is a step that goes beyond that - and in Gaza this step went too far in many places.

I am simply arguing that we should not make the mistake of silencing ourselves where legitimate questions are raised.
