The decision came a day after the Saudi air defense intercepted two Houthi drones aimed at Riyadh, amid the escalation of Houthi attacks on the kingdom.

Two separate messages from schools seen by AFP said: "We have just been informed by the Saudi authorities that schools must remain closed all week."
