A bipartisan group of 14 US senators urged Trump to withdraw Putin's invitation to the G20 summit in Miami, arguing that his participation would legitimize Russia's war against Ukraine.

The senators said Putin was responsible for launching the full-scale invasion and that allowing Russia to participate while Russia continues to attack Ukrainian civilians raises "serious concerns."

The letter was spearheaded by Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Roger Wicker (R) and Senate Foreign Relations Committee Democrat Gene Shaheen (D), and signed by both Republican and Democratic senators.
