Abdul al-Sayed on Israel:

My views on foreign policy are very simple. I just think we should be first among equals to enforce international law.

I would argue that Israel is the biggest exception when it comes to the behavior of the Israeli government in relation to the approval you would expect them to receive versus what they actually receive.

They managed to maintain an apartheid system, which is the only thing that can be called a continuous occupation of almost six decades of a people in Gaza and the West Bank.

They committed genocide in Gaza. They led us to war. Benjamin Netanyahu arrived in the situation room, raised the argument for war. He finally had a fool big enough to do it.

But think of war aims. We had no clear war aims for that war. Israel had clear war goals. And it seems that one of the major goals of this war is the preparation for the annexation of southern Lebanon. And we do all of this and all of this is done while our stated policy in the region is that we believe in a two-state solution, which is wild because we aid, arm and assist the government itself which is openly trying to eliminate the possibility of a second state.

And so I'm just saying that we should treat Israel the same way we treat any other country that has done the same things.
