The Saudi Grand Mufti Al-Fawzan published a religious mobilization notice calling for the protection of Saudi territory and the holy mosques "among the greatest religious duties".

He described the Houthis as a "band of evil" and "a plot of the enemies", called for "total defeat and extermination", and urged the coalition forces to "stand as one against this misguided sect".

He defined the return of the internationally recognized government of Yemen as "among the most pressing commitments".
