The assessment raised concerns among some US lawmakers about Trump's agreement to support a Saudi civilian nuclear program, which could allow the kingdom to enrich uranium and potentially create a path to weapons development.

The deal will allow American companies to build nuclear energy projects in Saudi Arabia. It initially limits uranium enrichment below 5%, but a later agreement could allow up to 20% enrichment, a level that can be processed into weapons-grade material.
