New: NYT confirms the previous report by "Haaretz" according to which the President of the United Arab Emirates MBZ warned Netanyahu before October 7 that Hamas was preparing a major attack.

According to five former Israeli officials quoted by the NYT, the warning never reached Israel's security leadership. The minutes of a security meeting on October 1, 2023 show that Netanyahu did not mention the warning and instead pushed to maintain peace in Gaza.

Netanyahu denied that he had received such a warning, saying that any intelligence information from the United Arab Emirates would have been transmitted through official channels.
