The Prime Minister of Lebanon, Nawaf Salam:

We want Israel to withdraw from the entire territory of Lebanon up to our internationally recognized borders, in accordance with the General Armistice Agreement of 1949.

We want the release of our detainees, the safe return of our people to their villages and towns, and the restoration of what the war destroyed.

In this spirit, Lebanon entered into negotiations with Israel in order to reach arrangements that would stop the war and restore Lebanon's full sovereignty.

This requires the withdrawal of Israel and the expansion of the authority of the state of Lebanon over its entire territory, with weapons in the hands of the state only.
