It's a delicate relationship. It's a relationship that carries the weight of history.

Indeed, given broad and regional challenges, the situation calls for a common understanding of how we move forward. An understanding based on full respect of international law and the principles of good neighborly relations.

After all, as I have said time and time again, we cannot change our geography. We are destined to live side by side. And I repeat that the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea provides the only institutional framework to resolve our only long-standing dispute regarding the delimitation of our continental shelf and exclusive economic zones.
