Obama:

When I travel around the country today, or I work with the young people I work with who come from all over the country through the foundation, what you discover is that we are actually not as divided as we seem on the ground level.

We are not as divided as our politics or our media suggest. The loud, noisy and polarized dialogue is produced in part for a variety of interests.

And when you get on the ground, it turns out that people still treat each other with fairness and respect.
