The aircraft flew from KAI's Sacheon facility to Yehaon Air Base, home of the reactivated 156th Fighter Squadron.

South Korea plans 40 Block I aircraft by 2028 and 80 Block II aircraft by 2032, for a total of about 120 KF-21s.

The aircraft will replace the country's aging F-4 and F-5 fleets, with initial operational capability slated for 2027.
