There is a movement in Greenland that wants the possibility of becoming independent one day. And this deal stands whether they go independent or not.

They simply want the possibility of one day becoming an independent country if they choose to do so. It will be up to them.

But whether that happens or not, this deal covers it. Basically, it will still be a deal. And that's why it was important to make Greenland part of the deal. They also signed it.
