EU envoys agreed to renew sanctions on Russia for three years while removing Russian billionaires Alisher Usmanov and Mikhail Friedman from the sanctions list.
The decision followed a controversy, with France pushing to remove Osmanov and Luxembourg seeking the same for Friedman, who filed a $16 billion lawsuit against the country.
