Britain will provide Saudi Arabia with "air-to-air refueling" support following Houthi drone and missile attacks, Prime Minister Andy Burnham has said.

Britain will provide Saudi Arabia with "air-to-air refueling" support following Houthi drone and missile attacks, Prime Minister Andy Burnham has said.

The support, which is expected to begin in the coming days, will include a single RAF Voyager aircraft based at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus.

UK officials said the deployment would be "time-limited" and likely to last "for weeks".

Burnham said the move followed a Saudi request for "military support" and was intended to protect regional stability and British interests.

"Saudi Arabia has experienced attacks, is examining the potential for further disruption, and we need to keep routes open, hence our agreement to the request."
