BIG: Seven Ethiopian armed groups - including former enemies TPLF, Amhara Fano and OLA - have formally announced an alliance to topple Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and establish a transitional government.

The coalition, called the "Coalition of the Ethiopian People's Forces for Survival", spans six regions (Tigris, Amhara, Oromia, Ogden, Afar, Benishangul-Gumoz).

It is worth noting that Amhara Fanu fought alongside federal forces against the TPLF just four years ago during the Tigris War.

The TPLF called the alliance "irreversible" with a signed document.
