At Lincoln Financial Field last night, Sheeran opened with a lengthy statement. He apologized for "difficult decisions" and "mistakes", said he never wanted to be political but could no longer remain silent:

"What is happening in Gaza is catastrophic and unjustified and disproportionate."

He called October 7 and the Nova attack "a terrible and complicated century of Jewish pain", said that his heart is broken by the deaths of civilians and children, adding:

"It is impossible to ignore the systemic injustice that we see happening in the West Bank."

He admitted that he is still "listening and learning because I don't know enough."

Reports say he cried before entering the "castle on the hill".
