The Makkah alliance is not threatened by Israel. Israel has no intention of attacking Turkey, Saudi Arabia or Pakistan. And the US has no ambitions to enter these countries.

So whatever agreement they make, they obviously believe it's in their best interest. Maybe it's to protect against the Houthis or terrorist organizations.

I never saw or heard any anxiety in Washington that "Oh my God, this is a terrible thing." I don't think anyone saw it that way.
