According to reports, Putin told US envoys that Russian forces would capture the entire Donbas region within months.

Kushner challenged Putin on the repeated forecast and said:

"With all due respect, you told us exactly that a year ago. What are the chances of us coming back here another year and you saying the same thing again? Maybe we won't lose a year?"
