The US military destroyed two Iranian boats after the Revolutionary Guards claimed they tried to seize an unmanned US Navy surface ship in the Strait of Hormuz.

A US drone fired two missiles at the boats, killing most of the people on board, while Iran said the ships were fishing boats and that some fishermen were missing.

CENTCOM confirmed the attempted seizure and said the U.S. drone remained under U.S. control.
