Trump urged Netanyahu to move forward with his peace plan in Gaza following the Israeli elections.
The plan includes the disarmament of Hamas, the demobilization of Gaza and the transfer of power to a Palestinian technocratic government.
The implementation was stalled for months, mainly because of Israeli political opposition.
Washington now wants progress regardless of who will form Israel's next government and is pressing for Israel's full cooperation.
