NEW: US intelligence has concluded that Chinese businesswoman Alice Huang, who developed close ties to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, was recruited by China's Ministry of State Security to spy on him.
The operation is reportedly aimed at gathering intelligence on advanced AI chips in the US and could influence Nvidia to expand chip sales to China.
Trump was informed of the relationship last year but took no action.
Republican lawmakers requested a closed-door briefing with Jensen Huang, while Nvidia described his interactions with the woman as routine.
