A US federal commission has approved Trump's planned 250-foot-tall Arc de Triomphe in Washington, clearing the way for construction to begin immediately.
The project, intended to mark America's 250th anniversary, has met with fierce opposition because of its proximity to Arlington National Cemetery and its lack of congressional approval.
