A confidential UN report reveals that a security firm linked to the United Arab Emirates recruited Colombian mercenaries to fight alongside Sudan's Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which has been accused of genocide.
The fighters were reportedly trained in Abu Dhabi and deployed to Sudan via Libya and Somalia, providing assistance with drones, artillery and training.
The findings intensified the scrutiny of the proposal of the United Arab Emirates diplomat, Lana Nusayeva, to be the Secretary General of the United Nations, in light of her role in denying the involvement of the Emirates in Sudan.
