Bernie Sanders:
We must enact a 5% wealth tax on billionaires so that we can provide every working family in the country, a family of four, with a direct payment of $12,000.
In other words, if you're a working-class family of four, that's $3,000 for each man, woman, and child. Twelve thousand dollars.
Furthermore, with this tax on billionaires, we could build 7 million units of low-income and affordable housing, we could make public colleges and universities tuition-free, and we could provide free universal child care to 13 million children.
