NEW: The Pakistan Air Force conducted the first flight test of the first originally developed air-to-air missile, the Faaz, fired from a JF-17 Thunder.

According to ISPR, the missile has a state-of-the-art terminal guidance system and can engage aerial targets at longer ranges.

Developed by NESCOM and first introduced as a model in 2023, the Faaz family is famous for ranges of over 100 km for the first version and about 180 km for a later version.

The Pakistan Air Force currently relies on PL series missiles made in China.
