North Korea has rejected Western sanctions, insisting they cannot undermine its status as a nuclear weapons state.
"Sanctions and pressure may work on the weak but never on us," said a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry.
Since 2018, North Korea's estimated nuclear arsenal has grown from 10-20 to about 60 warheads.
