European satellite companies are stepping up efforts to challenge Elon Musk's dominance of military communications after Starlink restrictions disrupted Ukraine's drone operations.
Finnish companies ICEYE and Nokia have partnered with Ukraine to develop independent satellite communications, with initial launches expected in 2028.
The French Eutelsat, which already operates in Ukraine, also positions itself as an alternative.
