Turkey's Defense Ministry says Ankara is ready to sign a maritime border agreement with Egypt, arguing that Cairo would gain more than 15,000 square kilometers of additional maritime jurisdiction compared to a possible agreement with Greece.
Greece and Egypt signed their own partial maritime border agreement in 2020, which Ankara does not recognize.
Ankara's offer comes as Turkish-Egyptian relations, restored in recent years, continue to improve.
