Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said trade talks with the U.S. have picked up a bit, with Washington moving closer to Ottawa's position.
The US and Canada are negotiating a deal to ease steel and auto tariffs, possibly before the Nov. 3 midterms.
The talks focus on steel tariffs of up to 50% and 25% auto tariffs, although Washington is seeking additional concessions.
