Trump says Libya "cannot remain a corridor for illegal immigration, and it must end now," while praising the Libyans as partners in the fight against terrorism.

He pointed to the joint defeat of the two countries of ISIS in Libya and honored the "sacrifices made by the brave Libyans".

Trump said that Washington supports the unification of Libya and its institutions, along with a move towards national elections.

He said the Libyans had been "victims of terrorism and foreign intervention for years" and called on them to "unite, take back their sovereignty."
