The US Department of Justice has accused government contractor Ian Brinksman, 42, of leaking classified intelligence to his girlfriend, journalist Ida Chavez, who publishes the Capital & Empire newsletter on Substack.
Prosecutors allege that at least five of her articles contained information that reflected classified reports, some of which were marked top secret.
