RAF Typhoons participated for the first time in a French nuclear deterrent exercise.
The British jets accompanied the French Rafales in rehearsals for a mock nuclear strike in an exercise run by France's Strategic Air Forces (FAS), which has operated with near-total autonomy since 1964.
No live nuclear weapons were involved.
