Billionaire Ron Lauder, president of the World Jewish Congress and once one of Binyamin Netanyahu's associates, broke years of silence to speak out against the Israeli Prime Minister in an interview with Haaretz.
Lauder says he saw 30 years ago how Netanyahu put his political future before the country, and now he is determined to wake up the Israeli public before it is too late.
He severed his ties with Israel in the past year, telling "Haaretz" "I sold my house in Tel Aviv" and saying that he gave his property in Beersheba to the National Fund for Israel, of which he is the head.
He turned to the Israelis and said:
"Your ancestors fought for the country, and you lose everything because of stupidity."
