A delegation of senior officers of the Turkish Navy visited the Syrian port city of Latakia to support efforts to strengthen the capabilities of the Syrian Navy.

A delegation of senior officers of the Turkish Navy visited the Syrian port city of Latakia to support efforts to strengthen the capabilities of the Syrian Navy.

The delegation included the Commander of Istanbul Shipyards Admiral Erdinç Yatkin, Chief of Naval Forces Chief Logistics Timur Yilmaz and Commander of Naval Training and Education Yusal Darkan, along with representatives of the Turkish Defense Company ASFAT.

The talks dealt with maintenance, repair and modernization of ships, construction of new ships, personal and team training and upgrades to the port infrastructure.

Both parties conducted inspections and agreed on a memorandum of understanding and a road map for cooperation.
