Details: Russia hit the historic center of Kyiv tonight with an Iskander ballistic missile carrying a cluster warhead.

The warhead releases 58 submunitions that explode in the air over an area of about 400 by 400 meters, a design designed to maximize damage to people and equipment.

Many civilians were injured, and buildings were damaged.
