New: The Iranian parliament approved Maherad Ahlaqi as Tabchi as the country's new defense minister.

Tabchi is a senior official in the Ministry of Defense who helped build and develop Iran's missile industry.

Previously he headed the industrial group Saheed in Agri and later led the Aerospace Industries Organization.
